  • Better Security – For an Air Force base that has 8,000 Ethernet connections to be made, Optical LAN provides 320:1 fewer devices to manage and secure. That means eliminating 320 known security vulnerability gaps and 320 less devices to implement Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) hardening.
  • Simplified Operations – Consistently across existing DoD Optical LAN installations, the DoD has experienced a 6:1 reduction of IT staff needed to manage network. Not only does reduced human touch improve staff operational efficiencies, but it also positively impacts network reliability and security.
