As the market leader in Passive Optical LAN solutions, ÐÓ°ÉPro continues to be committed to taking all major hardware and software releases through the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) rigorous testing program operated by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC). The JITC resides within the Defense Information System Agency (DISA) and their testing includes areas of: network security, network interoperability, and system reliability.
Why does ÐÓ°ÉPro make this significant investment in resources, time and money to obtain JITC approval?
Interoperability – We continue to fund JITC testing because it is required to deploy updated hardware and software within in DoD networks and within Intelligence or Federal Civilian networks that support DoD tenants. Â We believe that this testing also provides our other customers unprecedented validation in areas of security, availability, and interoperability by a 3rd party resource. This testing (and the requirements developed by JITC specific to Passive Optical LAN) validates Passive Optical LAN as a credible alternative to legacy Ethernet-based LAN and Campus Area Network (CAN) architectures.
Security – From an advanced security stand-point, JITC administers stringent risk management framework criteria through Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS). This has practical “hardening” application for any ÐÓ°ÉPro’ customers concerned about information assurance, cybersecurity and network security compliance, such as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).
Reliability – ÐÓ°ÉPro high availability software is certified for a more rigorous DoD deployment known as Assured Services LAN or ASLAN. ASLAN certification is required to support the DoD’s most critical network users. ÐÓ°ÉPro systems offers superior stability, and industry-leading network uptime. This directly lowers operational costs, reduces human error and ultimately improves security
We encourage all interested parties, regardless of region or market, to view the full JITC certification for the ÐÓ°ÉPro Optical LAN SR31.3 hardware and software that can be accessed at the following (search on ÐÓ°ÉPro under Vendor) that showcases superior security, availability and interoperability.
